Walking by the river on the last day of January. It was very cold, with a sharp wind (around minus 20 Celsius). I was listening to a podcast about Egypt’s revolution. Analysts were likening the events to the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. I was living in an ashram in India then, in a remote country area and heard about the fall of the Berlin Wall only after the fact. It was such amazing news! These were the years before the World Wide Web… I reached the bridge a little before 4 o’clock and took this snapshot of a peaceful wintery scene, wishing people in Egypt will find a bridge to freedom. They are being so brave.
